Upon completion of the X standard, students who have elected for the Commerce stream face several choices. One of the most sought after opportunity is the Chartered Accountancy program from India. Students actually have an option to get into the CA program immediately after completing the 12th, rather than the traditional route of waiting until getting a B Com. This means that students have the potential to be a Chartered Accountant by the time they turn 22 giving them an head start in their career as a finance professional.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India permit students to register themselves for the Chartered Accountancy Program once they complete their 12th Board Exam. They are however, permitted to write their exams only when the results of 12th Board are announced. The Foundation exam the entry point for a student to join after 12th is conducted twice a year, in May and November. Such a student will get his first eligibility to take the Foundation exams in November following the 12th Board provided he registers before June. This means that effectively a student has about 7 months to prepare for Foundation after completing their 12th standard.
Considering the complexities of a few subjects in the Foundation exams which are relatively new to a school student, it would be ideal for such a student to prepare while he is in 11th Class itself. We will be soon be launching a program that starts preparing students from the time they start the 11th Standard so that they have ample time to get used to the form, content and the testing mechanism of Foundation.
